I was a Lamaze instructor during the 80’s

I was a Lamaze instructor during the 80’s. My daughter is pregnant and due in December. I live a distance away so wanted her to find Lamaze classes. Nothing was available. This book is wonderful and will help her so much. Thank you!

A great read

A great guide! Especially for me, as a soon to be first time mom. Being in the medical field myself, I especially appreciate how informative the book is without feeling like I was reading an overly drawn out medical textbook. The pictures are also especially helpful!

Good Book !

My students enjoyed the book, it was thorough and the photos were helpful. I would have liked a few things in addition, but supplied my own handouts for those.

Support for intuitive labor for the stable patient

While the content is very factual and evidence based, I thought the Lamaze 6 practices could have been in bold type when in context, and the benefits of natural oxytocin and holistic practices could have been given better support.
Maybe a birth story about a stable laboring person being monitored by doppler can listen to and move intuitively. A laboring person on EFM tends not to move because the monitor needs to be readjusted so she listens for baby's heartbeat and forgoes the comfort of intuitive movement for comfort.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that you found the content factual and evidence-based.

The Lamaze 6 Healthy Birth Practices are highlighted within the book and can be found by looking for the Lamaze dot logo throughout the text, though we appreciate your suggestion about making them stand out even more. We also appreciate your thoughts on providing additional support for the benefits of natural oxytocin and holistic practices, as well as including examples. These are helpful ideas for future updates and resources to make the book even more practical and relatable.

Thank you again for your insights—they are very valuable to us as we continue to improve our materials for families and educators.
